U12s v Neyland

We played Neyland this morning in a good game with both teams scored some nice tries and both left a few out there.

The Saints were competitive from the start and Neyland didn’t like it, there was a lot of back chat from the players, coaches and parents. The Saints scored the first try of the game with some good passing and kept the ball well with Jack going over after some good phases of play. Neyland came back to level the scores. The Saints then moved the ball wide to Oliver who showed great speed to go around his winger and score under the posts. Neyland got the next score. The last play of the first half saw Neyland make a break down the bottom touchline for what looked like a certain try but a good chase back kept the pressure on and the ball was dropped over the line.

We looked a little tired at half time but started the second half well with the ball getting to Oliver again who showed his pace to go clean through just dropping the ball under the posts, so unlucky. Neyland responded with a couple of tries before we made a mess of a line out but Dylan Penfold cleaned the ball up with a good pass to Jack who made a break with Billy running a good line to run in a try under the posts. A tired looking team then started to give a few penalties away for high tackles and we slipped off a few to allow Neyland to pull away a bit. We had one more chance late on with Billy hacking through. He won the chase but the ball bounced awkwardly with the try line at his mercy.

Super proud of the U12s today they stuck at it even with all the moaning and shouting from the other team (players, coaches and parents)
Everyone put a shift in and played really well.
